It was in September 1968 that the amazing Jaguar XJ6 was unveiled to the stunned public eyes. Manufactured by the Ford Motor Company and marketed under the brand name of Jaguar, this was the one car which has been projected as the Jaguar flagship model for most of its future productions.
Right from the beginning, this unique car created such a demand in the automobile market that it was quite difficult for the manufacturer to keep up with it. The initial car that came out was fitted with either a 2792 cc 16 DOHC engine or a 4235 cc 16 DOHC engine. With an option of a four speed manual or a 3 speed Borg Warner automatic transmission, this car proved to be amply equipped with adequate power and speed.
